Latisse© works by lengthening the natural phase of lash growth, resulting in longer, thicker lashes. This is all possible thanks to bimatoprost, its primary active ingredient.
You’ll start to notice the effect of your Latisse© treatments after about 1-2 months of applications. You should see the best results after 4 months of use.
Once you commit to incorporate Latisse© applications into your daily eye care regimen, you’re virtually guaranteed to see all of its promised benefits manifest themselves through longer, fuller, and healthier eyelashes.
Latisse© works to revitalize your eyelashes in two ways, both of which work hand-in-hand: First, it extends the all-important growth phase of your eyelash development. Not only does this promote increased growth, but is also stimulates the formation of pigment or melanin. The net result is thicker, longer, and darker eyelashes.
To apply Latisse©, use an applicator brush to apply it to the base of your upper eyelid margin. After the application, the disposable brush is then thrown away. The process is then repeated daily.
For those who aren’t familiar with it, Latisse© is a clinically-proven product that helps promote the natural growth of your eyelashes.
Most of those who’ve undertaken Latisse© treatment start to notice a difference in their eyelashes after just about eight weeks. Peak results are typically reached 16 weeks after your initial application.
As was mentioned earlier, you’ll typically see the best results after 4 months of use. Once you’ve reached that point, it’s recommended that you continue use as needed. If you happen to discontinue using the product, your eyelashes will usually return to their pre-treatment state after a single average eyelash cycle.
That’s a decision that only you can make. If you wish to maintain your eyelash prominence, continued Latisse© applications are necessary.
This concern no doubt lies from the fact that it’s active ingredient, bimatoprost, is also used in the treatment of glaucoma. However, when applied as directed, Latisse© treatments only deliver five percent of the bimatoprost volume used in applications to treat glaucoma. In other products with the same active ingredient, iris pigmentation was only reported in 1.5 percent of patients.
Latisse© may cause a darkening along the upper eyelid, which may produce the appearance of eyeliner. This, however, usually goes away when you stop using it.
Consult with your aesthetic specialty doctor to find out how to safely use Latisse© with contacts or after laser surgery.
